The bartender was more interested in me finding the perfect beer than the place making as most money as possible. I wish this wasn’t a selling point, but in 2025 that’s a hell of a place to find yourself. Could not recommend this bar enough
The absolute best authentic German restaurant bar. A full German menu with the highest quality and fresh made food. They have the most wonderful authentic German beer selection of any place I've been. The service is fast, extremely courteous, and the bartenders are hot!
Das essen war gut! The food was really good. There were four of us and we each had something different and the were all delicious. The waitress was on top of things and was always there to fill our water or bring us another beer. The Bar itself is just that, it's an older bar, lots of memorabilia hanging but it was nice too. We enjoyed our meal, with 4 meals and steins of beer our total came to about 97.00. We will go back.
Stumbled upon this place on the way to dinner elsewhere and decided to call an audible to try Resi's and I'm glad we did! Great list of draft and bottled German beers, wonderful food and a cute little beer garden. No one else here on a Wednesday and I don't know why. If I lived up here I would be over here having a beer every other day. The bartender would be in my Covid circle. Can't wait to come back to try the Russian eggs!
This has been our go-to place for delicious German beer and wurst-especially in the summer when their patio is open. The small space is spacious so you do not feel cramped. The inside hasn’t changed and that just adds to the charm of a neighborhood bar where you can hang. The servers are friendly and accommodating. The food is superb. The menu offers a good variety of German food. Starting with the salad that is dressed with the best tasting vinaigrette ever. You can get just about every kind of wurst you’d want. The schnitzels are freshly prepared and tasty. The goulash soup is always a hearty choice especially when Chicago winters arrive.
True german bar and surprisingly good kitchen!! We had the chicken schnitzel and some brats and everything was delicious. Indoor atmosphere was really cozy. Will definitely be returning
Warm, inviting, laid-back, and friendly bar that has been around 100 years and operated by the same family for the last 50 years. Great selection of German beers and liqueurs.
Delicious food & great beer selection in a very cozy and friendly pub setting. Our server Heidi was an absolute joy. Shout out to Heidi!
